Bagless Days – Classes V & VI

Day 1
The students of Classes V & VI created useful or decorative items such as pen stands, wall hangings, bird feeders, posters and hand-painted pots using recyclable and discarded materials as part of the ‘Best out of Waste’ activity to raise awareness regarding several SDGs.
Thereafter, the pupils of Class V watched the film ‘Dr. Dolittle’, followed by a short discussion on empathy for animals, imagination in storytelling and the importance of kindness.
Meanwhile the students of Class VI participated in a brief session of no-fire cooking using dry ingredients and presented their dishes beautifully. Through this activity they learnt teamwork and culinary skills.
Day 2
Pupils of Class V designed colourful travel brochures of interesting places with descriptions and illustrations. The task helped develop their research, writing and presentation skills. They then presented short plays which had inspiring figures such as Vivekananda, Jawaharlal Nehru, Marie Curie and Raja Rammohan Roy, as the protagonists. The activity strengthened public speaking skills while deepening historical awareness.
The pupils of Class VI participated in a ‘Talent Show’ where they showcased their talent in elocution, singing and dancing. This was followed by a rejuvenating session of yoga and physical training, focusing on physical fitness, mental well-being and stress relief.
During the two bagless days the pupils enjoyed themselves thoroughly, while learning new skills.
