Thalassemia Awareness Programme conducted by Rotary Club of Calcutta Pointers

A Thalassemia Awareness Programme was conducted by Rotary Club of Calcutta Pointers. A seven-member team of Rotary Club of Calcutta Pointers (RCCP), a unique rotary club of South Point School ex-students, spoke to the senior pupils of Garden High School on 4 November 2025. Dr Kaushik Sil, a neurosurgeon by profession, conducted the session. Topics such as genetic disorders, how Thalassemia can lead to problems, importance of genetic counselling and testing before marriage and family planning were discussed. It was an extremely informative session for all.
