Educational Visit to IIT Kharagpur for the District Winners of VVM 2025-26

Two pupils of Garden High School, Shrutakirti Chatterjee (IX D) and Aditi Chakraborty (VIII D) participated in an educational visit to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur on 25 June 2026 as district winners of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2025-26. The visit was organized under the School Connect Programme, a Platinum Jubilee outreach initiative of IIT Kharagpur in association with VVM.

Eminent academicians addressed the gathering, inspiring students to pursue scientific inquiry and innovation. A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of the VVM national winners, coordinators and teachers, along with the sharing of experiences by participating students.

The educational excursion provided students with valuable exposure to advanced scientific research facilities. During their visit to the Central Research Facility (CRF), they observed sophisticated instruments such as Universal Testing Machine, the Magnetic Property Measurement System in the SQUID laboratory and the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). These demonstrations offered first-hand insight into cutting-edge research and technological applications.

The students also visited the Nehru Museum of Science and Technology, making the experience both informative and inspiring. The visit broadened their scientific outlook and motivated them to explore future opportunities in science, technology and research.
