Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2024-25
Kalpita Roy (VIII C) of Garden High School secured the 3rd position at the National Level Examination organized by Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan.
She appeared for a combination of paper-pen and interaction-based examinations. These included thought-provoking, situation-based problems on Science and Mathematics and the study of Indian contribution and advancements in Science and Technology. Personal interaction sessions were also conducted.
Students made presentations on topics like ‘Science behind Indian String Musical Instruments’ and ‘Biological Hotspots in your Locality/State/ Union Territory’. Hands-on experiments and activities on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics were given. Students needed to perform the activities and do all necessary calculations/ graph plotting within a stipulated time.
Kalpita was also assessed through activities like ‘Creative Assembling’ and ‘Problem Solving’ in which students engaged in challenges that promote creativity, critical thinking and puzzle-solving capacity. Here she tackled creative challenges, focusing on originality and imaginative expression, with an emphasis on presenting well-structured ideas.
Kalpita received her award at the National Camp held at IIT Kanpur, from renowned scientists Prof. Abhay Karandikar and Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur.
