World Heart Day 2026

To mark World Heart Day 2026, pupils of Class IX participated in a specially designed workshop ‘Use Heart for Action’, conducted at Garden High School on 23 September 2026, in association with Fortis Hospitals, Mukundapur and The Telegraph Young Metro.

The workshop focused on promoting cardiac health and well-being through awareness of healthy lifestyle, dietary practices and recognising early warning signs of cardiovascular ailments. Dr Sanjoy Sengupta, an eminent heart surgeon, addressed the students on ways to reduce the risk of heart-related diseases. Dr Partha Pratim Das, the Head of the Emergency Department, Fortis Hospitals, demonstrated the essential steps of providing Basic Life Support (BLS) during an emergency, which the students also had the opportunity to practise.

The session concluded with the students taking a pledge to adopt healthy habits and maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle.
