Young Minds, Digital India: Supporting Census 2027 – Generation of Awareness about Self-enumeration

A two-day awareness initiative on Census 2027 and Self-enumeration was organised at Garden High School on 10 and 11 August 2026 for students of Classes VII to XII. The programme aimed to familiarise students with digital census enumeration and highlight the importance of accurate data in national planning and governance.

During the morning assembly, Head Boy Kaunish Das (XII A) addressed the students and spoke about the significance of the Census in administrative planning and policy formulation. Students were encouraged to act as ‘Digital Census Ambassadors’ by assisting family members and neighbours with the online self-enumeration process. This was followed by a school-wide chart-making activity, which promoted teamwork, research and creative expression while reinforcing the students’ understanding of the Digital Census.
