Model United Nations

Our pupils participated in Model United Nations (MUN) organized by Sri Sri Academy from 28 October to 30 October 2022.

The participants were Sk Sussan Rahaman 9D, Shreshtha Sengupta 9F, Agnimitra Sarkar 9B, Anusha Choudhury 9F, Aritri Basu 9F, Ivan Chaki 9F.

The sessions were interactive. Our pupils actively took part in the discussions and put forward their views. The event gave them an opportunity to practise and improve their public speaking skills and gain confidence as also to build skills in diplomacy and decision making. Two of the participants, Sk Sussan Rahaman and Anusha Choudhury received verbal mention.

Model United Nations Workshop

On Saturday, 5 November 2022, a Model United Nations Workshop (MUN) was organized at Garden High School. The workshop was conducted by ex-students, Ahan Chakraborty and Raunak Munshi. Twenty-five students from Classes 8, 9 & 11 attended the workshop where they were briefed about the basic features, rules and regulations followed in MUN. An overview of how they should conduct themselves as ‘delegates’ was explained to them. The students were also guided about researching various topic from journals and publications. Many students had questions regarding MUN which were clarified and they interacted well with the ‘chairs’. It was a very interesting session and students will have gained more confidence in participating in MUN in future. The session was also attended by four teachers from the History Department – Ms Jayashree Chakraborty, Ms Suchanda Banerjee, Ms Srijonee Chattopadhyay and Ms Antara Saha.
