Fading Memories

Fading Memories

Anjanava Biswas, VIII C (2019-20)

Listen, I don’t know
Crept her voice gently and slow
What happened? – What happened to this class
Ringing like the sound of shattering glass

His silent tears the melancholy rain
The dreadful showers of agony and pain
The once free mind carefree of tomorrow
Now is drowning in oceans of sorrow

As long as these painful memories exist
Till distant future their bonds persist
The illusionary veil of loneliness scares
The gentle soul trapped in hideous nightmares

Both their hearts in drowsy shade
Those senseless petty quarrels fade
Amidst the wind ‘It was never your choice’
Calls out a long lost voice

Why?
