The night that surprised me

The night that surprised me

Ananya Moulik, IV B (2018 – 19)

One night, as usual, my mother put me to bed and covered me with my blanket. I was very tired and so, I fell asleep. When it was midnight, something unexpected happened.

I felt someone shaking me constantly and heard it say to me that I should play with her. When I was irritated of the continuous shaking, l opened my eyes and saw Sonia, my favorite doll, disturbing me. I was so surprised that I nearly fell off my bed. I thought that it was a dream and so, I pinched myself but found out that it was really happening. Sonia again told me to play and added that I had not played with my toys for a week which was true. So, I played ‘Tug of War’ with the toys in which my team won. Then we played ‘gun fighting’ in which Mary, my toy cowgirl won. We then played a game of quiz in which Ted, my favorite toy bear won. At the break of dawn I told my toys that I had to sleep because if l did not my mother would scold me. My toys told me that it was better to go to bed than getting scolded and agreed.

I went to bed and fell asleep for l was tired. When my mother came to wake me up, I was happy because she did not have an idea of what had happened at night.
